Neu Kosenow is arranged as a linear village along the present-day federal highway 109 in a long S-shaped curve. The municipality is located on federal highway 109; the Berlin–Stralsund railway line also crosses the municipal area.

Geographical Location

Neu Kosenow is a municipality near Anklam in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Anklam is located approximately eight kilometres northwest of Neu Kosenow, while Ueckermünde is about 18 kilometres to the east.

Historical Traces

The 1880 map records 15 colonist farms in Neu Kosenow as well as two windmills: a post mill and a Dutch-style windmill. A local church is also associated with Neu Kosenow as a visitor attraction.
