Murchin: Hotels and Accommodations

Murchin is located in the Lassaner Winkel, about seven kilometres northeast of Anklam and about ten kilometres west of Usedom. In the direction of the Peene River, the area is described as marshland; this is where the Lower Peene Valley Nature Reserve (Peene Valley Moor) is located. The B110 federal highway runs through the municipality.

Landscape

Several lakes are located within the municipality, including Lake Pinnow and Lake Küchen. The southern part of the municipality of Murchin is wooded and includes Libnow Forest, Pinnow Forest and Murchin Forest. Düwelsberg is located nearby; Neidbullen lies in the surrounding area of Murchin.

Culture

Murchin Church is a listed church building in Murchin. The present church was built in 1604 as a rectangular brick building with fieldstone. Its furnishings include a pulpit altar from the 18th century, whose canopy and back wall are decorated with acanthus ornamentation. A bell cast in 1448 is housed in the free-standing wooden belfry.

The surrounding area of Murchin is home to Quilow Water Castle, the Trabbi Barn, the Maria Magdalena Church in Schlatkow and Quilow Village Church. Further afield in the region are Wolgast Zoo and the Trassenheide Butterfly Farm.
