St Christopher’s Church was built in the late 13th or early 14th century as a hall church with a cross-ribbed vault. Inside is a knotted altar carpet made in 1948 in the fishing village of Freest. The church in Kröslin thus also reflects a connection to the craftsmanship of the village district of Freest.
From mid-May to mid-September, the church is open on Mondays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Outside these hours, an appointment can be arranged through the Kröslin parish office. Freest: beach, fishing and ferry connections
The fishing village of Freest lies directly at the mouth of the Peene River into the Greifswald Bodden.
