Culture

The village of Herrnburg developed from the 13th century onward around a customs post and its church. For 40 years, Herrnburg was a border settlement; during this period, the village could only be reached with special permission. During the GDR era, parts of the municipality of Lüdersdorf were located in the restricted area and cut off from their natural surroundings.
