Penzlin is a town in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, near Neubrandenburg. The town is also located on the eastern edge of Müritz National Park.

Nature

The Großer Stadtsee and Kleiner Stadtsee lakes southeast of Penzlin form part of a chain of small lakes in a glacial trough running from north to south.

Culture

Walpurgis Night is a traditional festival in Penzlin. The activities focus on the old castle complex and traditionally take place on April 30. The historic castle of Penzlin houses the Witches' Cellar, which is associated with the town's cultural heritage identity.

Penzlin is located on federal highway B192, the main connecting route between Waren (Müritz) and Neubrandenburg.

Mollhauerberg is located in the immediate vicinity of Penzlin. The surrounding area includes St. Georg, Neubrandenburg, Seeberg, Kulturpark, Steinburg, and Fuchsberg. In the wider regional area are Wildberg as well as Kittendorf and Dorfkirche.
