Beech forests and nature information near Serrahn

The ancient beech forests in Serrahn are part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. More than 260 bird species are known in the Serrahn beech forest area. In Bergfeld, the old blacksmith’s workshop was handed over to the public in 1985 as a local history room; it is also used as an information centre for Müritz National Park. Another nearby point of interest lies at the field boundary between Carpin and Bergfeld: a granite boulder measuring 11 cubic metres is located there and can be viewed by anyone. A clearly visible, alleged handprint with five small indentations can be seen on the stone.
