Water, landscape and history

At the bathing area on Lake Dümmer in Perlin, there is a large sunbathing lawn. The Dümmer Landscape Garden provides information about a Lombard cemetery, displays replicas of burial mounds and megalithic tombs, and presents other archaeological monuments in the surrounding area.

Parum Church is a Gothic brick church with a stone base. Its nave dates from around 1450. The furnishings include an organ by Johann Heinrich Runge from 1877, which was restored in 2005.

Cycling around Dümmer

Cycle paths alongside roads, quiet local connecting roads and forest paths support both short and long bike tours in Dümmer. On the “Around Lake Dümmer” cycling tour, some sections have a separate cycle path alongside the main road; the route includes slight to moderate inclines.

The municipality of Dümmer is connected to the Mecklenburg Lake Cycle Route, and signposting helps with orientation in the municipality. It is also located on the regional cycle route from Schwerin to Zarrentin in the Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve. The Elbe-Schaalsee Cycle Round Trip passes Lake Dümmer; shorter sections can be cycled from Dümmer.

At the Dümmer starting point, there are accommodation and dining options as well as parking spaces and a bus connection to Schwerin. There is also a bus connection from Schwerin to Dümmer.
