Mistorf is situated in gently rolling countryside. The Mühlbach stream is located in Neu Mühle; it flows between the low-lying valleys of the Warnow and the upper Recknitz towards the Nebel.
Culture and History
Mistorf was first mentioned in 1294 and is considered to have originally been settled by Slavic people. A chapel dating from 1342 was built on the initiative of the Bishop of Schwerin. The municipality’s listed heritage includes a 14th-century Gothic brick chapel with a three-sided eastern end, buttresses, a wooden Baroque roof turret, and remains of a carved altar from the 15th century.
A listed manor house in Mistorf is a renovated, rendered building dating from around 1870 and is now used as an office.
