The municipality of Grapzow, with the villages of Grapzow and Kessin, lies on the Treptower Werder, a lowland area between the Tollense, the Großer Landgraben and the Kleiner Landgraben.

Paths and landscape

The Tollense Valley forms part of the scenery visible from Grapzow’s hiking and cycling trails. At the same time, the municipality is connected to well-developed cycling and hiking trails that offer picturesque views over the Tollense Valley.

The hill Trompeterberg is located near Grapzow. The surrounding area also includes the hills Ochsenberg, Voßbarg and Osterberg.

Culture and history

Grapzow’s village character is shaped by a brick church from the 19th century. Its bell is housed in a separate wooden bell tower and is dated to 1491.

The ruins of Wildberg are part of the area surrounding Grapzow. The churches “Dahlen Dorfkirche” and “Beseritz Dorfkirche” are also located nearby. The Trabbi-Scheune Museum is located in the wider regional area around Grapzow.

Farm estate and farmers’ market

The farmers’ market at the Grapzow farm estate offers wheat and potatoes produced on the farm, as well as seeds, animal feed, garden products, decorations and gifts. The farm shop also has a snack counter.
