Graal-Muritz is located on the Baltic Sea, where coastal forest, a moorland landscape, and a third natural area meet. The combination of sea and landscape shapes the town, as does its long tradition as a Baltic Sea health resort.

Graal-Muritz has five kilometres of sandy beach and around 12,000 hectares of coastal forest. In addition, the area has a bioclimate considered beneficial to health.

The local forest is a place for relaxation, while Nordic walking is possible on the beach. From Graal-Muritz, cyclists can also ride in the direction of Darß.

The town's recurring visitor programme includes concerts in the rhododendron park, readings at the Haus des Gastes, and the Moorgeister festival in September.
