Kragenæs: Dodekalitten, Trails and Marina Beach

If you are looking for a place that combines cultural experiences, outdoor activities and time by the water, Kragenæs can be explored in several ways. Dodekalitten, hiking trails, a signposted cycling route, the harbour and Marina Beach each offer a different focus. Dodekalitten and Glentehøj

Dodekalitten is at the centre of the cultural experiences. The site consists of 12 stone columns, each 7 to 9 metres high and weighing 25 to 45 tonnes. Dodekalitten can be visited free of charge at any time throughout the year; the integrated 12-channel sound system plays spatial electroacoustic music there every day during daylight hours throughout the year. In this way, the site combines monumental stones with a unique sound experience, without requiring you to limit your visit to a particular season.

Glentehøj is located approximately 300 metres west of Dodekalitten. If you would like to connect the two sites on foot, you can use the Glentehøjstien: the path from the town of Kragenæs to Glentehøj passes by Dodekalitten.

Hiking and cycling around Kragenæs

For a more compact excursion, the 5 km hiking route “Oplev Kragenæs” is a good option. It leads through the town and harbour of Kragenæs, through Klinteskoven forest and past Dodekalitten.

The area can also be explored by bicycle on a longer route. The 36 km cycling route “De lollandske alper” starts and ends at the harbour of Kragenæs and is signposted with symbols. If you like to combine your trip with an active activity, you can choose between a walk through the town, harbour and forest and the signposted cycling loop.

Harbour, Marina Beach and ferries

Kragenæs Marina Beach is part of the harbour of Kragenæs and offers a shallow jetty with a fine, stone-free sandy bottom suitable for children and adults. At the floating jetty at Kragenæs Marina Beach, you can swim and launch kayaks and windsurfing boards. For time by the water, there is therefore both a shallow jetty with a sandy bottom and a floating jetty offering opportunities for swimming and launching kayaks and windsurfing boards.

Ferries run from Kragenæs to Fejø and Femø. This connection extends the maritime character of the place to destinations on the two islands, without requiring an additional route within Kragenæs. The ruins of Ravnsborg are also located in the immediate vicinity of Kragenæs. Knuthenborg Castle is likewise located in the surrounding area of Kragenæs.
