Millinge: Discover Coast, Forest and Trails

Millinge shows its coastal side at Millinge Klint, where there are seven coastal overnight huts. A staircase leads to a sturdy bathing jetty from which you can swim. For travelers who want to include swimming in their days by the sea, the combination of the staircase, bathing jetty and coast provides a concrete starting point for planning the day. This makes it possible to base the choice between a stay focused on the water and a day on forest paths around specific places in and around Millinge.

Broad forest paths and traces of the past

Damsbo Forest offers excellent hiking opportunities along very broad forest paths. The width of the paths is a factor in its own right when planning a day on foot. The same forest contains five other burial mounds; two of them may have contained dolmen chambers. Those who pay attention to history while walking can view the forest paths and these traces in the same landscape. For planning the day in Damsbo Forest, broad paths and historical traces can therefore be treated as separate focal points.

There are bus connections to Damsbostien from both Faaborg and Haarby. This means that Faaborg and Haarby can be planned as two starting points for reaching the trail. Those planning to travel by bus can distinguish between these two locations. For a day trip, it is therefore already clear before the actual walk whether the journey is planned from Faaborg or from Haarby.

The Steensgaardruten: short, free and child-friendly

The Steensgaardruten is free to use and approximately one kilometer long. It is a child-friendly route featuring ten informative signs that encourage dialogue. The short distance gives the trail a manageable scope, while the signs add information and prompts for conversation. On its map, the route passes a kitchen garden, animals in the fields, a barn, a maturation cellar and a slaughterhouse. The route thus connects a kitchen garden and animals in the fields with a barn, maturation cellar and slaughterhouse. When planning the route, you can take its approximate length and the individual points into account together.

Castle, beach and Falsled Kro

Brahetrolleborg, a castle, is located in the area around Millinge. Helnæs Beach, a beach, is also located nearby. Brahetrolleborg and Helnæs Beach therefore offer different focal points for a day in the area: a castle on one hand and a beach on the other. Those who want to explore different themes side by side during their stay can choose between castle and beach in the area around Millinge.

The history of Falsled Kro is long and, at times, eventful, and can be traced back to 1744. That year, Count Reventlow received royal permission to operate an inn and distill spirits. Falsled Kro also hosts an annual cooking gathering.
