Balka Beach is considered a several-kilometre-long beach with very fine sand and shallow water. Balka is located on the southwest coast of the Danish island of Bornholm and is a small seaside resort between Nexø and Snogebæk.

Coast and water

The beach is protected from the prevailing westerly wind in summer. A path and a wooden ramp connect it to the car park on Frederiksvej. At the Balka end of the beach, there is a mini-golf course, toilets and car parks; the shallow water and gentle waves support family-friendly use of the beach.

Activities on the water at Balka Beach include pedal boats and windsurfing equipment rental.

Trails and nature

The area around Balka offers opportunities for hiking and cycling through Bornholm’s natural landscape. The former railway line between Balka Strand and Nexø has been converted into a cycle path.
