Drottningskär is a destination for travellers who want to base their stay around maritime history and preserved fortifications. The focal point is Drottningskärs kastell, a well-preserved 17th-century fortress with four bastions. As an outer fortification, the fortress is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Naval Port of Karlskrona. The complex was built between 1680 and 1769, bringing together several historical periods that can be seen in its construction history.
The elongated donjon made of granite and limestone is particularly striking. A gun battery is located at the top, while accommodation and two large powder magazines were built below. Connection to Aspö

Church and museum
The local history also includes Aspö kyrka. It is located in Drottningskär in the Karlskrona archipelago and was completed in 1891. A particular focus is the Museum för rörligt kustartilleri. It displays a unique collection of Swedish mobile coastal artillery equipment from the late 19th century through to the year 2000.
