History

Kuty was founded around 1550; its founding charter is recorded as dating from 1553. Historically, Kuty was a royal village.

In the early history of the settlement, a parish and a school were established in Kuty; a local priest is recorded for 1567.

Michał Pogorzelski is associated with Kuty; he was a Masurian figure who served as rector of the local school from 1772 to 1780.
