Pilchy: Hotels and accommodations

Lake RoÅ› is the first body of water in the Great Masurian Lakes system. Several rivers and canals feed the lake; its water flows via the Pisa River towards the Narew, Vistula and Baltic Sea.

Nature and surroundings

Over the course of the year, the water level of Lake RoÅ› can fluctuate by up to 1.5 metres. These changes pose ecological challenges for the organisms living in the shoreline zones.

Szeroki Ostrów is located in the vicinity of Pilchy. The wider regional surroundings of Pilchy include Góra Dąbrowa, Góra Jelonka and Ostra Góra; Kadzidłowo is also part of this wider regional area.

In Pilchy itself, building no. 5 was formerly a school. Today, it is a hydrobiological station of the University of Warsaw.

Other places in the wider area include Krzyże, Orzysz, Maldanin, Pogobie Średnie, Ukta, Kamieńskie, Karwica and Ruciane-Nida.
