In Lubajny, a former manor house has been preserved, along with remnants of a park and farm buildings.

Culture and history

The settlement originated as a knightly estate; its history is documented in connection with a land purchase in 1398 and a renewed founding charter from 1477. Lubajny is also home to the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, built in 1995, as well as the Deanery Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, founded in 1996.

In the immediate vicinity of Lubajny, the castle “Ostróda – Zamek Krzyżacki XIVw.” is located in Ostróda.

Location and routes

In the wider regional area around Lubajny lies Dylewska Góra. A railway line between Iława and Olsztyn and a municipal road between Ostróda and Stare Jabłonki also run through Lubajny.

The Gmina Ostróda lies mostly in the river basin of the Drwęca and its tributaries; the municipality also encompasses the area of the Elbląg Canal.
