Mierki is surrounded by pine forests and lies in an agricultural landscape of fields, meadows, and pastures. At the same time, the place is considered an area with a considerable tourist presence, including holiday and recreation centers.

Mierki lies two kilometers east of Olsztynek on the road toward Szczytno. Asphalt road 603 runs through the village toward the recreation centers in the eastern part of the municipality. Lake Pluszne is located near Mierki; Dylewska Góra lies in the wider regional surroundings of the place.
