The nature reserve protects a deciduous forest with more than 1,000 European yew trees. Szeska Góra and Tatarska Góra are located in the area surrounding Guzy. Lipowa Góra and Audyniskie Góra are situated in the wider regional area.
History
At the eastern edge of Cisowy Jar lies the historic early medieval hillfort known as Stare Szańce. Guzy was founded in 1563 by Wawrzyniec Roch, the starost of Węgorzewo, on the basis of a grant by Duke Albert.
