Reszel: Hotels and Accommodation

Reszel lies in a landscape with post-glacial lake basins and undulating terrain that is distinctly hilly in places. The municipality is part of the Mrągowo Lakeland within the Masurian Lakeland.

Culture and History

The Gothic Church of St. Peter and Paul stands in the southern part of the Old Town. It was built in the 14th century and rebuilt in the 15th century. Reszel preserves sections of its defensive walls from the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as a surviving defensive tower dating from 1360 to 1370.

The Gothic bridge of Reszel dates from the second half of the 16th century and spans the Sajna River and a deep ravine. Reszel is also associated with a Gothic castle, a contemporary art gallery, and a creative workhouse.

In the immediate vicinity of Reszel lies “Reszel – Zamek Biskupów Warmińskich XIV-XVw.”. In the wider region are “Kętrzyn – Zamek Krzyżacki Rastenburg XIVw.” and “Barciany – Zamek Krzyżacki XIVw.”.

Nature and Water

The townscape includes a town park whose landscapes have been admired for more than a century. A kayak route leads from Lake Dejnowa to Lake Kiersztanowskie and runs just beyond the municipal boundary.
