The permanent exhibition at the Muzeum Ziemi Gołdapskiej consists mainly of ethnographic, historical and geological exhibits, as well as military artefacts. The ethnographic exhibits draw attention to culture, while the geological ones focus on the nature of the earth; the military artefacts add military history to the mix. Gołdap's historic water tower has two modern viewing terraces overlooking the town and surrounding forests. The exhibition and tower therefore offer different perspectives on the place: themed collections and views of the town and forest.

In the wider Goldap destination, a kayaking route on the Gołdapa runs from Lake Gołdap through the town of Gołdap and on via Juchnajcie, Boćwinka, Sapałówka and Banie Mazurskie to Zakałcze and Mieduniszki. The water activities differ in scale: the solar catamaran trip takes place on the lake, while the kayaking route follows the Gołdapa through several named places.
In the wider Goldap destination, Gołdap has a one-hectare intergenerational playground next to the graduation towers. Mini-golf courses are located around the graduation towers and on the shore of Lake Gołdap. Clubs can be borrowed free of charge at the Pijalnia Wód Mineralnych i Leczniczych; check the current availability of equipment on site. The playground and mini-golf offer two different ways to spend time outdoors.
