Maciejewo is a small settlement on the provincial road to Olsztyn and belongs to the Braniewo rural municipality.

History

Maciejewo was founded in 1409; its origins are connected with the period of the Teutonic Order. The settlement developed outside Warmia at the historic border between the lands of the Teutonic Order and the bishops’ lands. Historical forms of the settlement’s name are Matternheffen and Matternhöfen; the Polish name Maciejewo was introduced in 1948.
