On foot and at the monument

The lit running track in Slutarp is 2.2 kilometres long and connects to the footpath to Frökindsgården in Kinnarp. This gives you two different route options: a running track with a specific distance and a footpath with a named destination. When planning, you can decide whether to focus on a run of a defined length or the footpath towards Frökindsgården.

The Slutarpsdösen is a Stone Age grave dating to around 3200 BC. Please do not climb onto the capstone, as the carvings are very delicate. The dolmen offers a different focus from the route-related attractions: here, the prehistoric grave and the need to treat its carvings with care take centre stage. Its date places it far earlier than the railway and settlement history of the 20th century.

Railway traces and local history

The Hallonflickan find site is on the old railway embankment between Falköping and Slutarp. A railway line serving Kinnarp and Slutarp was built in 1906 and closed in 1985. During the 20th century, Kinnarp and Slutarp grew from the rural municipality of Kinneved into settlements. The railway and settlement histories have different time frames: the railway has two specific dates, while the development of the settlements falls within the broader context of the 20th century. Their geographical references also differ: the find site is between Falköping and Slutarp, while the railway served Kinnarp and Slutarp.

Cycling and route connections

The disused railway embankment of the former line between Falköping and Ulricehamn passes through Slutarp and is now used as a cycle path. The Älmestadsturen also includes Slutarp. The railway embankment links the route through the village with its present-day use as a cycle path; for the Älmestadsturen, the connection is that Slutarp is included in the route. The two routes therefore connect with Slutarp in different ways.

The Kulturturen Åsle is a 47-kilometre road cycling route; check the route conditions before setting out. Its length and classification as a road cycling route provide different points of reference from the cycle path through Slutarp or the inclusion of the village in the Älmestadsturen. Comparing it with the 2.2-kilometre running track also helps distinguish the different types of activity: the figures refer to a running track and a road cycling route, not to two comparable paths. Depending on whether you plan to travel on foot or by bicycle, different route features will be most relevant to your planning.
