The Oltorp outdoor recreation area in Kvänum has four challenging mountain biking routes in natural surroundings for adults and children. If you want to go mountain biking, you can choose from these four routes. A ten-kilometre cultural trail also runs through the area. You can walk, run or cycle along it. The activities differ both in format and in the options described: the mountain biking routes are challenging, while the cultural trail has a stated length and can be used in different ways. The outdoor recreation area also includes a small swimming lake, adding a swimming option to the trails.
Bastöna gammelgård and the circular trail near Rösjö Mosse
Near Kvänum, outside the town, Bastöna gammelgård is located in Norra Vånga. The well-preserved historic farm dates back to the 1860s and is the starting point for a marked hiking trail. The approximately five-kilometre circular route crosses Rösjö Mosse, passes Rösjön and returns to the starting point. This gives you the option of a hike with a clearly defined route: it begins and ends at Bastöna, passing through the marshland and by the lake along the way. Compared with the ten-kilometre cultural trail in Oltorp, this is the shorter of the two hikes mentioned; the distance is approximate.
Tastings and visits to Bjertorp Slott
Qvänum Mat & Malt offers beverage tastings as well as tours of the brewery and distillery. The company produces aromatic beer without additives, using water from its own well. You can therefore focus on a beverage tasting or a tour of the production areas.
