Bathing and trails: practical options

You can reach Odenbadet by car, bus, train or bicycle. Several modes of transport are therefore available for you to consider when planning your trip. Odenbadet’s family pool and water-play area includes a whirlpool with a water gun, a champagne pool, air-bubble benches, a slide and a paddling pool. If you are planning a day of swimming, you can compare these specific features with your bathing interests.

Hälsoslingan is in the centre of Falköping, and you can choose between routes of 4, 6 or 8 kilometres. These three distances provide a clear guide to the length of walk you are looking for. You can therefore choose this route based on a specific distance, while other trails are described by their location or the way they are divided into stages.

Mösseberg and nature areas

Mössebergsbacken is a ski area on the slopes of Mösseberg, offering a view of Falköping. Mösseberg is just a few minutes from the centre of Falköping. Both its proximity to the town centre and its view of the city can help you plan your trip. If you are interested in winter sports, Mössebergsbacken is a specific activity to consider.

Several walking and cycling trails lead from the urban area of Falköping to the Mösseberg eastern slope nature reserve; there are also several trails and paths within the reserve. Parts of the area are included in the European Union’s Natura 2000 network. The trails from the urban area to the nature reserve and the paths within it offer different points of reference for getting around. Its inclusion in the Natura 2000 network is another aspect of the area.

Vråhålan Nature Reserve offers a different landscape: a wedge-shaped rift valley with towering broadleaf forest, cliffs, deep rocky ravines and expansive views. Several rare orchid and moss species live there. If you are interested in nature, you will find not only the landscape described here, but also specific botanical features.

Museum, church and pilgrimage trail

Two different cultural sites are in the centre of Falköping: Falbygdens Museum and S:t Olofs kyrka. At the museum, Hallonflickan can be seen in a unique reconstruction of her face; the remains of an ancient dog are also on display. The two exhibits have different focuses: a facial reconstruction and the remains of an ancient animal. S:t Olofs kyrka is at Storgatan 13, near Stora torget in the centre of Falköping.

The Pilgrimsleden Falköping–Varnhem pilgrimage trail runs between Falköping and Varnhem and is divided into three stages. This offers a different way to plan a route than Hälsoslingan: there, you can choose between 4, 6 or 8 kilometres; for the Pilgrimsleden, the two endpoints and the three-stage division are its defining features. The key distinction for you is whether you prefer a route with a choice of distance or a connection divided into stages.
