Solberg can be explored through several specific travel interests: winter ski runs at Solbergsbacken, views and trails at Solberget, as well as a distinctive church and nature experiences. If you choose the town as a base for your stay, you can first consider the season and the activities you want to enjoy. This helps you weigh up the focus of your stay, whether on a winter day, culture or the landscape.

Winter at Solbergsbacken

In winter, Solbergsbacken offers six ski runs and a children's run. These are specific points to consider for a day of skiing; the resort also has a relaxation area with an outdoor hot tub. If you are considering a winter-focused stay, you can take both skiing and relaxation into account as different aspects of the trip.

Getting there and finding your way

Solbergsbacken is located at Fritidsvägen 12, 895 98 Solberg. The easiest way to reach the resort is by car; it is nine Swedish miles from Örnsköldsvik. Sportboa is a ski goods shop in Solberg, near Solbergsbacken. Opening arrangements may change, so check them before visiting.

Church and architectural history

Solbergs kyrka was inaugurated in September 1918. Its single-nave wooden hall is 37 metres long, and its western tower reaches a height of 21 metres. The church is situated on the southern slope of Solberget and offers views over the surrounding area. Both its design and location are of interest: the length of the nave and the height of the tower give two different measures of the building, while its hillside setting connects it with the landscape.

Trails and views at Solberget

Solberget rises to 594 metres above sea level; a lookout tower on the mountain offers a 360-degree view. A signposted hike of about three kilometres leads to Solberget from Kyrkvägen in Solberg. Conditions along the route can vary, so it is worth taking them into account when planning.

Vitklippan, a barbecue area with views of Solbergsbyn, is also located on Solberget. You can park by the road and then follow a signposted path for about 200 metres to the spot. Outdoor conditions and seasonal access may vary; take this into account when planning your visit.

Nature and fishing nearby

Near Solberg is Stockholmsgata, a gorge formation 50 metres deep and 1.5 kilometres long. The nature reserve can be reached via a turn-off from Road 348 near Solberg. Nearby Solbergån offers opportunities for fly-fishing for grayling and trout. Djuptjärna offers ice fishing for rainbow trout and perch. The options described differ both in fishing method and in the fish species available.
