Lögdeå is shaped by the Lögdeälven, which flows through the area and is classified as an area of national interest for nature conservation; it is also part of the Natura 2000 network. A 85 km-long hiking trail runs along the river through a landscape of ravines, meanders and various terraces. Meanders are bends in a river; terraces are stepped landforms. Here, nature is reflected not only in the river itself, but also in the terrain along the hiking route.

River Landscapes and Hiking Trails

The Lögdeälvsleden section between E4 Lögdeå and Ormaggan is 9 Swedish miles long, or 90 km. This figure refers to a route with explicitly named endpoints and differs in length from the 85 km-long hiking trail along the Lögdeälven. Both distances therefore provide specific guidance for visitors who want to focus their stay on hiking.

Activities in Lögdeå

Lögdeå Sportklubb organises health-promoting activities for all age groups. At Hallberget, there is a lit trail for running, exercise and cross-country skiing, a sledding hill with a barbecue area, and an outdoor gym. Visitors who like to make exercise part of their stay can choose between organised activities and the specific facilities at Hallberget.

The Lögdeälven also offers a range of activities for different interests: the river is widely known among anglers; salmon, sea trout and grayling are caught there, and the fishing is considered high-quality. Sandy beaches along the river invite visitors to swim. Mountain biking is another activity available in Lögdeå. Fishing and swimming are directly connected to the river, while mountain biking offers another option when planning your trip.

Art and Cultural History

Baudin's Art includes a gallery in Lögdeå. It features metalwork and glass art by artist couple Linda and Mattias Baudin. Alongside the river and outdoor activities, handicrafts offer another reason to visit. The combination of metalwork and glass art gives this aspect of local life its own cultural focus.

Visits to the glassworks in Lögdeå can be arranged by booking in advance. If you are planning a visit, confirm the time before you arrive.

Åbergsgården is a 19th-century farmhouse from Ångermanland. It is intended to be preserved as a property of cultural-historical value and made accessible to the public to an appropriate extent. If you would like to include the farm in your stay, check in advance whether a visit is possible and under what conditions. This means that any planned visit remains subject to actual access.
