Parkland and character

The area around Stora Sköndal has the character of a setting with houses in a park. Small houses with apartments for seniors and staff are arranged freely amid lush greenery; the road network and buildings were carefully adapted to the existing topography and natural surroundings.

Water and bathing spots

The family-friendly Sköndalsbadet is on the shore of Drevviken. You can swim from the sandy beach or the jetty; the lake lies directly below the swimming area. An unmanned Kayakomat rents out single and tandem kayaks between Sköndalsbadet and the sun terrace.

Stora Sköndal’s bassängbad is an outdoor swimming pool for people with disabilities and their relatives. Access conditions may change; check the latest information before your visit. The facilities differ in their bathing environment and intended users: At Sköndalsbadet, Drevviken lies directly below the swimming area; you can swim from the sandy beach or the jetty. The bassängbad, by contrast, is an outdoor swimming pool for people with disabilities and their relatives. This means that swimming in the lake and an outdoor pool for this visitor group are two different bathing options.

Paths by Drevviken

The Drevviken shore promenade passes Stora Sköndal Manor. There, its main route continues farther from the shore through meadows and woodland towards the Flaten area. At Talludden and Lövudden, walking and jogging paths run along Drevviken. The main route of the shore promenade passes through meadows and woodland away from the shore at the manor, heading towards the Flaten area; the paths at Talludden and Lövudden, by contrast, follow the shore of Drevviken.

Another named walking route is the Kärnordsvandring: a pilgrimage walk of about two kilometres along Drevviken. It passes nine stones bearing texts by author and theologian Margareta Melin. If you are planning a particular route, bear in mind that trail conditions may change.
