Kungsängen: Art, Golf and Activities at Lillsjöbadet
Accommodation in Kungsängen
Kungsängen can be explored through a range of interests: art in the town centre, golf with a clearly dated tournament history, and activities at Lillsjöbadet. When planning your trip, it is worth considering these highlights individually. This can help you decide whether a cultural visit, golf or active hours at the bathing area should shape your stay.

Art in the Centre of Kungsängen
Kungsängens Konsthall is located on the ground floor of the cultural centre in the centre of Kungsängen. The Vårsalongen Konst & Hantverk takes place there every year. This recurring annual exhibition gives the town a regular cultural focal point. If you would like to plan your trip around the exhibition, check the specific dates in advance.
Activities at Lillsjöbadet
At Lillsjöbadet, activities in the water and on land come together. An underwater snorkelling trail is marked with eight information signs at a depth of one to three metres. Above the bathing area, there is a disc golf course with 18 baskets. Lillsjöbadet also has a multifunctional workout area for bodyweight exercises. The playground includes a parkour course, a balance trail, swings and playhouses.
The different facilities offer a range of activities: the snorkelling trail takes you underwater, while disc golf and the workout area provide opportunities for exercise on land. The playground adds several pieces of play equipment to the mix. You can plan your visit to the bathing area according to whether you mainly want to spend time in the water or combine different activities.
Lillsjön can be reached from Kungsängen railway station by taking bus 559 to the Hallonvägen stop. From there, it is a one-kilometre walk to the bathing area and recreation facilities. If you plan to visit Lillsjön, allow for this walk as part of your journey and check the bus timetable before setting out.
Winter Activities Depend on the Weather
In winter, too, planned activities depend on the conditions. When the weather is suitable, cross-country ski tracks are groomed on the exercise trails at Lillsjön. If the ice on Lillsjön is thick enough, an approximately three-kilometre skating loop is prepared on the lake. The two activities differ both in what they involve and in their requirements: the ski tracks depend on the weather, while the lake loop also depends on the thickness of the ice. If you are planning a winter visit around either activity, check in advance whether the tracks or loop have been prepared.
Golf and Tournament History
GolfStar Kungsängen has a 36-hole golf course, which opened in 1991. The facility also includes a driving range with three putting greens and two chipping greens. The size of the course and the different practice areas are useful points of reference for golf enthusiasts.
The tournament history is also precisely dated: GolfStar Kungsängen hosted the Scandinavian Masters four times, in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2005. The tournament was part of the European men's golf tour. These years put this part of the history in context; they refer to past tournaments, not a current tournament schedule.
Choosing Where to Stay
There are two specific points of reference for getting your bearings in town: the art gallery is in the cultural centre in the town centre, and Gröna Udden is also centrally located in Kungsängen. Gröna Udden is about a ten-minute walk from Kungsängen railway station. This time is explicitly approximate, but it can still help you gauge the location in relation to the station. If a visit to Lillsjön is part of your travel plans, also allow for the bus journey and the subsequent one-kilometre walk.
