Culture and local history
Broby hembygdspark is the largest open-air museum in Skåne and is located along the Helge å. The park is intended for visits and walks. Those who want to combine culture and exercise can include it as a point of interest on a walk; its museum character and riverside location come together here.
Broby kyrka was built in 1932. The cabinet in the church is made from parts of the altar table and pulpit of the medieval church. The construction date of 1932 and the medieval elements of the cabinet bring together two periods in the church’s history. Grimmatorpet dates from 1708 and is a South Götaland ridge house with two storage lofts. This broadens the picture from church history to another historic building style.
At Kulturhuset Vita skolan in Broby, a sculpture park displays public stone sculptures acquired by the municipality over the years. The church and sculpture park thus offer distinct cultural highlights: architectural history on the one hand and public stone art on the other.
Play, exercise and the lake
Tivoliparken, in the town centre, has a playground with water-play features. The municipality dates the playground to June 2025. Tydingesjön, three kilometres west of Broby, has a child-friendly beach, a kiosk, food and drink, and camping. This presents water play in the town centre and a beach with additional facilities by the lake as different planning options.
The outdoor gym in Broby is located on the northern section of the loop from Hembygdspark along the Helge å, between the tennis courts and the illuminated trail. This location offers a clear landmark if you plan outdoor exercise as a separate activity.
Town layout and practical information
The old market square used to be the centre of Broby, where four major roads converged. Together with the central Tivoliparken, it offers two distinct points of reference: the market square recalls the former centre, while the park is a central place to play.
Fritidsbanken Östra Göinge is located at Ågatan 11 in Broby and lends sports and outdoor equipment free of charge for up to 14 days. As loan conditions may change, check the current terms before using the service. A valid fishing licence is required for fishing in Östra Göinge, including along the Helge å. For active days, the town therefore offers two different options: an outdoor gym and the time-limited loan of sports and outdoor equipment.
