Kreuzkamp is associated with the 209-hectare Sielbektal Nature Reserve, the Kreuzkamp lake district, and the surrounding forests. It was established in 2015 and comprises extensive pastureland, wet meadows, marshes, wet forests, peat bog complexes, historic woodland sites, and several bodies of water.

The Kreuzkamp lake district consists of former extraction ponds that were transformed into a lake district between 2008 and 2009. Its water surface covers approximately 15 hectares. Breeding reed birds such as great crested grebes and reed warblers use the area, while kingfishers and white-tailed eagles search for food there. Numerous dragonfly species also use the waters for reproduction.

The visitor map of the protected area around Kreuzkamp shows hiking and cycling paths, parking areas, information boards, and the designated boundaries of the nature reserve. It therefore supports an exploration of the landscape that is compatible with nature conservation.

Getting Around

A cycle path corridor along Kreisstraße 15 connects the Offendorf side with the direction of Gremmersdorf and passes through sections associated with Kreuzkamp. The corridor was renovated as part of a project in 2023.

Surroundings

St. Lorenz, Rosenhagen Beach, the seawater wave pool, Dog Beach 1, and Buchhorst are located in the area surrounding Kreuzkamp. Lübeck's St. Catherine's Church, St. Mary's Church in Lübeck, and Dassow's St. Nicholas Church are also located in the surrounding area.
