Lensahn: Hotels and accommodations

Lensahn lies among forests, meadows, fields, and a clear lake; historic avenues and nature-friendly cycling paths lead through the surrounding countryside and toward the Baltic Sea coast.

Nature and trails

The OstseeFerienLand promotes hiking trails around the Großer Mühlenteich. Lensahn and its surroundings can be explored on horseback.

Culture and history

At the Museumshof, rural history is conveyed through historic exhibits that visitors can see, touch, and try out. In the machine hall and the field barn, the Museumshof displays agricultural machinery from the years 1850 to 1960. A 2.4-kilometer nature trail leads to pond biotopes and the Hildegard von Bingen Garden.

St. Catherine's Church was built around 1250 and is the oldest surviving building in Lensahn. Its interior contains a Gothic baptismal font, the Petrus Bell from 1622, the Plague Window, the Levetzow Chapel from 1740, and a contemporary owl organ. The parsonage from the 18th century was the home of the writer Dr. Julius Stinde during his childhood. Gut Petersdor in Lensahn is also home to the land art piece “AL fresco.”

Water and leisure

The heated forest swimming pool is located between the Waldkurpark and the Mühlenteich. The facility includes a 50-meter lane, a non-swimmer pool, a diving pool, a children's paddling pool, a sunbathing lawn, and a playground.
