Rowy’s fishing harbor is located at the mouth of the Łupawa River. Kayakers can travel along the Łupawa River; Rowy is located at its mouth. The international R-10 “Nadmorski” coastal cycling route runs for 38 kilometers through the Ustka municipality and extends to Rowy on its eastern border with the Smołdzino municipality. This route makes Rowy part of a longer coastal journey. Another route option is the 20-kilometer “Szlak Zwiniętych Torów” between Rowy and Przewłoka. The different names and lengths make it easier to consider water-based activities and land routes separately.
A circular route runs from Rowy via Dołgie Małe and back to the starting point, covering 17 kilometers. It passes through the forest areas of Słowiński National Park to Lake Dołgie Małe, continues through wooded dunes to the sea, and then follows the coast back to Rowy. Its course is therefore quite different from the R-10 coastal cycling route: the described circular route includes forest, a lake, dunes and the return journey along the coast. Church, Rescue Station and Nature Exhibition
Rowy’s Neo-Romanesque church was built from 1844 to 1849 using hewn glacial granite stones. Its façade features a “black stone” associated with a weather legend: if it gets wet, a storm is said to be on the way. This local tale adds to the building’s history. A rescue station, which is still preserved today, also stands behind the coastal dune. The house, marked with a Maltese cross, is owned by the Maritime Office.
The branch of the Słowiński National Park Museum features the exhibition “Plaża – cztery pory roku” (“Beach – Four Seasons”). It explores changes in the coastal sandy area and the beach’s seasonal biodiversity, particularly the changing birdlife. It offers a chance to learn about how coastal nature changes with the seasons.
