Gardna Wielka is a former fishing village on the Słowińskie Coast, situated on Lake Gardno. At the same time, the village presents itself as a historic Słowińskian settlement with a linear village layout; the central square may lie on the site of a medieval fortification.
Culture and History
The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1852. Its tower is dated to 1860, and fragments of medieval walls have also been preserved.
The historic furnishings include a bell from 1764, a granite holy water font from the 13th/14th century, and stained-glass windows from 1920. They commemorate German soldiers who fell in the First World War.
Gardna Wielka was an early religious center of the Słowińskian region. Until 1845, services in the local church were held in Kashubian. A former railway station is also documented in Gardna Wielka.

The Słowiński National Park is located in the area surrounding Gardna Wielka. Plaża Rowy and Plaża Dębina are also nearby.
