The parish church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1282 and remodelled in 1842. Another piece of heritage lies outside the church building: historic tomb slabs from the 16th century can be seen in the former churchyard. Trails with different routes
The trails can also be clearly distinguished by their length and route. A black connecting trail links Gardna Wielka with Słowiński National Park over a distance of 5.4 kilometres. The yellow southern trail is considerably longer, at 39 kilometres, and runs from Łeba Żarnowska via Gać, Izbica, Kluki and Smołdzino, along the Rowokół Hill, to Gardna Wielka. The places in this sequence form part of the route described; Kluki is one of the named stops along the way.
The two distance figures refer to different trails and starting points: the 5.4 kilometres describe the connection between Gardna Wielka and the national park, while the 39 kilometres cover the entire yellow southern trail from Łeba Żarnowska to Gardna Wielka. If you are interested in hiking and nature, you can therefore first consider the trail length and the places named. The yellow southern trail also features Rowokół Hill as a prominent section of its route. The route ends in Gardna Wielka; by contrast, the connection to the national park is described via the black trail.
Lookout point by Lake Gardno
Near the destination, there is a lookout tower on the “Gardnieńskie Lęgi” nature trail on the eastern shore of Lake Gardno. It is right beside the black hiking trail on the stretch between Gardna Wielka and the Baltic Sea. Its location is defined by three details: the nature trail, the eastern shore of Lake Gardno, and the black hiking trail between Gardna Wielka and the Baltic Sea.
