Stare Pole is located in Malbork County in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and on the transit route connecting Gdańsk, Malbork, Elbląg, Braniewo, and Kaliningrad. In the broader regional context, Stare Pole is described as a very old Slavic settlement and as a village that was historically affected by flooding from the Nogat.

Landscape

The municipality of Stare Pole is described as an exceptionally flat delta area with the Nogat and numerous canals, as well as agricultural and green areas. Around the Gmina of Stare Pole, routes for walks through rural landscapes and green areas are described; some of them follow waterways and water reservoirs. There is a small lake and a small beach in a forest in the Stare Pole area.

In the vicinity of Stare Pole are Kamienna Góra, Malbork – Teutonic Castle, 13th–15th centuries, and Malbork – Strusi ogród. In the wider regional area are Wzgorze nad Rumunkami, Góra Maślana, and St. Nicholas Church in Lisewo.

Culture and History

The Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland on ul. Marynarki Wojennej is listed in Stare Pole. A former sugar factory is part of a cultural and historical excursion that begins at GOKiS in Stare Pole. There is a Mennonite cemetery in Szaleniec.
