Kościerzyna is located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and Kościerski County, within the Kashubian region known as Kashubian Switzerland. The lakes of Gałęźne, Kapliczne and Wierzysko are associated with the town; Garczyn, Sudomie and Osuszyno are located nearby.

Geographical Location

Wieżyca, at 329 m above sea level, is located in the vicinity of Kościerzyna, in Kashubian Switzerland (Szwajcaria Kaszubska). Wlk. Klincz 178 and Niedamowo are also located in the surrounding area.

Culture and History

An American Old Cars Museum in Kościerzyna displays around 30 classic American vehicles, primarily from the 1950s to the 1980s. The museum also includes a Coca-Cola-related collection with more than 700 objects.

Kościerzyna is also home to an open-air railway museum, the market square, the Muzeum Ziemi Kościerskiej and the Church of the Resurrection.

Kościerzyna is associated with swimming in lakes, fishing, sailing, cycling trips and kayaking.

An official project of the Gmina Kościerzyna provides for a planned 2.71-kilometre-long pedestrian and cycle path in the wider regional area; the project is intended to strengthen the local route network.

The area of the Gmina Kościerzyna is home to the Kashubian Ethnographic Park in Wdzydze Kiszewskie, a viewing tower in Wdzydze, water sports facilities, boat trips on the Wdzydze Lakes, an art gallery and historic village buildings.
