Gdynia is a major Polish seaport on the Baltic Sea. The city developed as a seaside resort and is associated with a Baltic coastal location. Its port is used by cruise ships and ferries traveling to Scandinavia.

City and coast

Gdynia’s city center is characterized by modernist architecture, developed mainly in the 1920s and 1930s. The modernist city center is listed as a historic monument of Poland and is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gdynia hosts the Gdynia Film Festival every year.
