Culture and History

Wiślina is home to a cemetery gate belfry dating from 1792, known as “Brama do Raju”. It is connected with the former Mennonite cemetery and the history of Olęder settlement in the area. The wooden structure rests on a brick base; surviving inscriptions document local historical patrons and forms of commemoration. The gate belfry underwent extensive renovation in 2006 and received the “Zabytek zadbany” award from Poland’s General Conservator of Monuments.
