Finspång combines architectural and cultural history with trails, nature by the water and leisure activities. This gives you a range of options to plan your day around: historic buildings, a trail through town, a lakeshore or a water park. You can decide which of these to focus on by exploring the specific places and trail options.

Finspång

Cultural history and historic trails

Bruksgatan is lined with traditional houses dating from the 18th century. Bruksparken is in the centre of Finspång and also has its origins in the 18th century. Finspång Castle is one of Sweden’s largest Baroque castles. The street and park therefore have ties to the 18th century, while the castle adds another historic feature as a Baroque building.

A historic walking tour of Finspång includes a castle with an English-style park and an iron temple. The Bruksmuseet is open by prior arrangement and offers insights into a large part of a historic era. An information trail in Bruksparken, Slottsparken and the surrounding area focuses on historic sites and buildings. You can choose between a walking tour, a themed trail and a museum visit by prior arrangement.

The cultural and historical walking tour in central Finspång is about 10 kilometres long and starts at the tourist information office in Finspång’s Kulturhuset. The Mäselnleden is about 5 kilometres long and runs around Lake Mäseln. The two trails therefore differ in both length and theme: a longer cultural route through the centre or a shorter loop around the lake. The Mäselnleden is approximately half the length of the cultural and historical walking tour; both distances are approximate.

Nature along the trail and by the water

The nature trail in Bönnernskogen has tactile, nature-related information boards; the information is also available via an audio guide. Gronbadet is a bathing spot on Lake Gron, on the edge of the Finspång urban area, surrounded by pine forest. The focus differs: Bönnernskogen highlights nature information along the trail, while Gronbadet offers a lakeside bathing spot and a woodland setting. Mäselnbadet has parking and toilets.

Leisure activities for different interests

The water park at Arena Grosvad has two water slides, a water play area and a mini adventure for younger children. If you’re planning a visit with younger children, you can take this mini adventure into account when choosing what to do that day. As facility details may change, please check the latest information before your visit. In Vibjörnsparken in central Finspång, there is an 18-hole course beneath oak trees. This park course adds another option alongside the water park and historic trails.
