Location
Jakobsdorf is a municipality west of Stralsund in Vorpommern-Rügen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located approximately 16 kilometres southwest of Stralsund. The B194 runs about three kilometres to the east, and the municipality can be reached via the Grimmen-Ost junction on the A20.
Culture and History
Mönchstein is located in the vicinity of Jakobsdorf. Schlossberg and Burgwall are also situated in the wider regional area.
Near the ruins of Endingen manor house lies the Elchjägerplatz Endingen VI archaeological site. It is dated to the Early Allerød and is associated with evidence of human settlement in northeastern Germany around 11,000 BC.

The surrounding area of Jakobsdorf includes Stralsund Zoo and Dänholm. The RuheForst Rügen/Abtshagen is also located nearby. The wider regional area includes Grimmen Zoo and Marlow Bird Park.
