Swimming area on Lake Passow

Cycling Route 2 is about 15 kilometres long and leads via Weisin, the Bobzin lock and Lübz back to Passow. On the way from Passow towards Weisin, it passes the bathing beach and runs through the Alte Elde Nature Reserve. This route thus combines a circuit with a section through the protected area and past the swimming area.
At about 26 kilometres, Cycling Route 1 is longer. Its circuit leads via Charlottenhof, Zahren, Kressin, Daschow, Kuppentin and Weisin back to Passow. A well-maintained cycle path runs along the Elde-Müritz waterway on Route 1. The two circuits therefore differ both in their approximate length and in the places they pass through. Those who prefer a shorter ride can choose Route 2; Route 1 is the alternative for a longer round trip.
The surrounding area can also be explored on foot: the Alte Elde Nature Reserve is well suited to hiking. Another specific suggestion is the circular hiking trail around Lake Passow, which takes about 60 minutes. It complements the cycling routes with a walk whose duration can be factored directly into the day’s plans.
Passow Castle and its Pompeian motifs
Passow Castle was built in the Palladian style. This art movement, shaped by Palladio, drew inspiration from the rediscovery of Roman villas. This connection to Roman villa architecture is also reflected in the murals on the upper floor: they were created from designs based on the Villa of the Vettii in Pompeii. The dome is decorated with allegorical motifs from the animal and plant worlds of various Pompeian periods.
