Bathing beach and water sports on Lake Plauer See
The natural swimming beach in Zislow has shallow water and a gently sloping shore. These features make it suitable for families with young children. This gives you a clear choice when planning your day between spending time at the water’s edge and activities on the lake.
Motorboating, sailing, windsurfing, rowing and canoeing are all possible on Lake Plauer See. The options range from motorised boating to wind-powered activities, as well as rowing and canoeing. This means there are different ways to spend time on the water, alongside relaxing on the shore.
Zislow harbour was redeveloped in 2006.
Nature trails, cycling and horseback riding
In the “Stemmnitz” nature area, walks along the “Path of the Sleeping Stones” or the “Path of the Forest and Tree Spirits” lead to the Zislow observation tower. Both walks share the same named destination, but follow different, specifically named trails. If you would like to include a walk with a specific destination in your day’s plans, you can make the observation tower your goal.
From Zislow, you can explore the surrounding area by bicycle on continuous cycle paths along Lake Plauer See, as well as on low-traffic routes and rural farm tracks. This gives you a choice of different types of routes: those that follow the lakeshore, as well as quiet roads and paths in the countryside.
Zislow also offers good conditions for horseback riding on natural trails. Rides add another way to explore the surrounding area, alongside walking and cycling. The MĂĽritz National Park hiking trail runs for nine stages and takes in the landscapes and distinctive features of MĂĽritz National Park in the Mecklenburg Lake District: it passes lakes, winds through ancient forests, goes by inland dunes and reaches the source of the Havel.
Village church and archaeological heritage
Various cultural events are held at Zislow village church. An exhibition complements the programme from the end of June to the end of August. If you would like to make the exhibition a specific part of your stay, check the latest dates in advance.
The Zislower Schälchenstein measures 1.7 × 2.1 m and has 116 carved cup marks. It lies just outside the village of Zislow, on the road towards Malchow. Its size, the number of cup marks and its location make it a specific archaeological landmark for visitors interested in the history and traces of the area.
