Sietow on the Müritz: Beach, Harbor, and Wandelweg

Walking the Sietower Wandelweg

The Sietower Wandelweg is approximately 9 km long, follows a figure-eight shape, and returns to its starting point. If you prefer a shorter route, you can take a 6 km circular option at the junction near Station 10 (Lemniscate), which leads back to the village. The two distances give you a clear difference to consider when planning your day, without requiring you to commit to a particular loop length. The trail follows easy-to-walk paths through fields, forests, and meadows. It thus combines different landscapes in a clearly described loop; the shorter version offers an alternative if you do not want to walk the full length of the trail.

Cycling and activities on the water

For extended rides through the countryside, the Müritz Cycle Route offers a different way to experience the surroundings than walking the Sietower Wandelweg. If you enjoy alternating between activities on land and time by the water while on vacation, you can choose between different types of activities without combining them into a single route.

The Sietow church is an early Gothic fieldstone building. At the Erzählkirche, visitors can listen to and tell biblical stories, life stories, legends, fairy tales, and traditional tales. The Sietow Harbor Festival takes place every year on the last weekend in July and lasts two days. It is considered a cherished tradition. If you would like to plan your trip around a recurring event, this weekend is the specific date to keep in mind. At Sietow's harbor restaurants, fishermen serve freshly caught and smoked fish. This lets you combine a visit to the village with its fish cuisine, without limiting the offerings to a single dish.
