Sietow is considered to have originally been settled by Slavs and was first mentioned in official records in the 13th century. A testament to the village’s older history is the Sietow-Dorf village church: the historic hall church was probably begun in the second half of the 13th century; later brick additions were completed in the 14th or 15th century.
