Nossentiner Hütte is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District, approximately six kilometres north of Malchow and around 17 kilometres west of Waren (Müritz), on the eastern and northern shores of Lake Drewitz. The municipality rises in the south to the 96.8-metre-high Pickberg; along these shores, the terrain drops to 62.4 metres.
Nature
Most of the municipality lies in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park and is forested. The southern tip is characterised by agricultural land.
History
Nossentiner Hütte was first documented in 1751. The name refers to glassworks and tar kilns that existed there at that time.

Hoher Berg and Axenberg are located in the immediate vicinity of Nossentiner Hütte. The surrounding area includes Schwenzin Castle, Lockwerder, Kirch Poppentin, Steinwerder and the Affenwald Malchow summer toboggan run. Burg Schlitz is located in the wider regional area.
