Woldegk: Hotels and Accommodations

Woldegk is a rural town in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in southeastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and belongs to the historic cultural region of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The town is located in a glacial ground moraine landscape south of the Helpter Hills. At more than 100 meters above sea level, Woldegk is one of the highest-elevation places in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Culture and History

Woldegk's history includes a distinctive windmill tradition: five preserved mills in different architectural styles can be found near the old town. The Buddesche Mill is a museum mill open to visitors and includes a local history museum. The exhibitions focus on prehistory and early history, mills, and scale models of the town.

Preserved sections of the town wall and the medieval St. Peter's Church are also part of Woldegk's historic heritage. A town walk focused on the mills is possible, although the route is not signposted and the mills can be difficult to find.
