Windmills and the Craft of Milling
The Ehlert Mill stands in its original 1886 condition. It was reconstructed in 1991 and fitted with faithful replicas of its original sails in 1993. It is operated as a working museum. The Fröhlcke Mill offers a different perspective: it is the largest of Woldegk’s five windmills and stands by the city lake. The Gotteskamp Mill is Woldegk’s fourth windmill and is known as the “Moulin Rouge of Woldegk” because of its red color.
The Woldegk District Authority offers individually bookable guided tours of the more than 125-year-old museum mill for small and large groups; tours are arranged on request. Across two floors, groups learn about the craft and life of millers. Those interested in the work behind the history of milling will find a dedicated focus here, alongside the mills as buildings.
City Wall and Church
The historic city wall encircles Woldegk’s town center for a length of 1,442 m. On a walk through Woldegk, visitors can discover sections of the 14th-century fieldstone city wall over a stretch of around 700 m, as well as parts of the ramparts that have been preserved. These figures refer to different things: the wall around the town center and the sections of the fieldstone wall that can be discovered on the walk.
St. Petri Church in Woldegk dates from around 1250 and is an example of North German Brick Gothic. Its church tower was renovated in 2006/2007 and inaugurated on October 6, 2007. The construction period and the tower renovation mark two distinct points in the history of the same church building.
More Nature and Water Experiences in the Mecklenburg Lake District

Visitors can observe the animals there. The reserve also features a forest discovery trail with climbing opportunities, an ant house, an exhibition with touch-and-see displays, and a dendrophone.
The town harbor of Neustrelitz offers another way to experience the water: visitors traveling by water can explore Müritz National Park and the Strelitz Little Lakes via the Upper Havel Waterway. This is a distinct regional focus, separate from Woldegk’s mills and historic buildings.
