Moltzow lies between nearby Lake Malchin and nearby Müritz in the northwestern part of the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The municipality is part of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow Nature Park; the surrounding area is wooded and hilly.

History and Culture

Moltzow and Rambow emerged from Slavic settlements and were already associated with the Maltzan family in the Middle Ages. The Moltzow estate remained with the family from 1372 to 1945.

Moltzow Palace is considered a Baroque complex dating from the 18th century, with a park.

The hiking surroundings of Moltzow include trails through Mecklenburg Switzerland to Müritz, as well as a long-distance route between Waren and Demmin.
