Bütow between Church Architecture and the “Mill”
The church in Bütow combines architectural elements from several centuries. Its square tower is built of fieldstones and dates from the 14th century. The rectangular brick nave was built in the 15th or 16th century; the altarpiece dates from the second half of the 17th century. The tower, nave and altarpiece thus represent different periods rather than a single phase of construction.
Another local landmark is the grain silo, visible from far away, which is called the “Mill.” The building was formerly a bread factory: in the 1920s, it produced bread and pastries for Berlin for only a short time.
