Village Church and Architectural History

Witzin Village Church dates from the 13th century. Inside, ribbed vaults conceal the roof structure. For travelers interested in historic church architecture, this combines a clearly established date with a distinctive structural feature of the interior. The construction period and the vaults offer two different ways to explore the church: one places its origins in time, while the other describes a feature of its interior.

The village church also has a single-manual mechanical slider-chest organ. It was built in 1894 by Edmund Bruder (1845–1911), an organ builder from Wismar. The building therefore brings together different periods: the church dates from the 13th century, while the organ dates from the late 19th century. Ortmannsee and Named Fish Species

Tour 4 with Two Length Options

Cycling can also be explored in more detail through Tour 4. Without the option to visit Lenzener Steintanz, the tour is about 58 kilometers long; with this option, it is about 70 kilometers. The difference between the two approximate distances comes from choosing this option. Along the T 30, the route continues through the forest from Sternberg to Witzin. The section in Witzin follows Büdnerstraße toward Schäferei and Ortmannsee; the route then continues along a concrete-slab track to the cycling path to Lübzin. This describes both distance options and several named points along the route. When planning your trip, you can weigh up whether the shorter or longer option, or the specific route, is more important to you.

The municipality also offers an architectural point of interest: at Dorfstraße 2 in Loiz, a district of Witzin, there is a hall house.
