The surrounding area includes Lehmberg, Galliner Berg, Tegelberg, and Vierberg. The Alte Elde flows through the municipality of Gorlosen; south of Gorlosen, the Meynbach flows into it.

The Wendische Burgwall is located in the area around Gorlosen. The wider regional surroundings also include Dömitz Fortress, Rahnsburg Cultural-Historical Monument, and Schwedenschanze.

Gorlosen has public transportation. The nearest railway connection is in Grabow, about 12 kilometers away; federal highway B191 is about six kilometers to the north.
