Karenz: Hotels and Accommodation

Karenz is located at or on the Wanzeberg, a ridge covering around 40 square kilometers and characterized by biological and geological features. Parts of the ridge, particularly in the west, are forested. The village belongs to the Griesen Gegend region in southwestern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. To the south of the village rises the 71-meter-high Steinberg, the highest elevation of the Wanzeberg.

Geographical Location

Karenz is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is administered by the Dömitz-Malliß municipal office, based in Dömitz. Federal highway B191 runs about 1.5 kilometers south of Karenz.

The Salzquelle, Vierberg, Kronsberg, and Grinsenberg are located in the vicinity of Karenz.

Culture and History

The village church of Conow is located nearby. Dömitz Fortress is situated in the surrounding area. Further afield in the region are the Wendish rampart and the Rahnsburg Cultural and Historical Monument. In 2020, Karenz and the Malliß district of Conow jointly marked the settlement's 750th anniversary.
